Wonderful Discovery

I was surfing blogs the other day looking for SVG files to use with my Make The Cut! software. I stumbled onto this wonderful store with beautiful files that I can use. The store is Mamaw’s Legacy where I purchased just one to get started.

So I grabbed a piece double-sided cardstock and fired up my Cricut and the Make The Cut! software. My first attempt at the butterfly was on the solid side of the cardstock. I didn’t like it as there wasn’t enough contrast to suit my tastes. So I cut another from black cardstock and was very happy with the results. Here’s my finished card.

I added the rub-on sentiment, three pink crystals and the pink bow to finish it off. The finished top-fold card is approximately 4.25 x 5.5.

I’m so pleased with this SVG file that I will now have to go shopping at Mamaw’s Legacy for more. There are fabulous things to be found in this shop.

OCCS Challenge 7

I immediately liked this week’s sketch at Our Creative Corner when I saw it today. I don’t usually get a challenge done on the first day, but this one almost made itself. Here’s the sketch:

Here is the card I created:

It was nice to find a way to use the color block papers. I bought them originally for scrapbooking, but I do lots more cards these days.

I really like using the Dazzles stickers, too. The different layers are attached with mounting tape to give more depth and texture to the finished card.

Supplies:

  • Card blank
  • Paper Pizazz “Kyla’s Tone-on-Tone Color Block Papers” in shades of blue
  • HOTP Dazzles Stacked Medallion in gold
  • Other gold peel-offs
  • Scotch mounting tape

Create4Fun #11

This is my first entry into the Create 4 Fun challenge. I really liked the sketch, so decided to give it a go.

I had recently seen the oval from the Celebration embossing board with  the inner sections cut out. I wanted to give that a try – this sketch was perfect. Here’s what my finished card looks like.

Once I had all the papers selected the card came together pretty quickly.

Supplies:

Cardstock from my stash
Celebrations Embossing Board
Paper Pizazz Flowered “Handmade” papers in 2 shades of blue
Offray 1/8″ white ribbon
Jolee’s Boutique dimensional flower stickers

This is the card I came up with:

Copper peel-offs
