1 card = 2 challenges

This card turned out to be a huge challenge, not just regarding the 2 online challenges I’m entering. I’ll explain after you see the sketch from OWH Stars and Stamps (#21) for this week:

Seems simple, right? It’s got all the dimensions right on the pieces. But it’s laid out for an A2 card size. I wanted to make my card larger – 5″ x 6.5″. So I went to work figuring out the new dimensions for all the pieces. Even then, it wasn’t right and I had to wing it. Fortunately my calculations were slightly too big and the papers were easily cut down.

Anyway, this is my finished card for my grandson’s 9th birthday next month:

This card is also entered into the Just Us Girls challenge for this week (#37) which requires the use of digital paper or digital stamps. Everything on this card is digital paper. That’s always fun because I can only print the amount and sizes of paper that I need – no leftovers.
