Stars & Stamps #92

This is the sketch from OWH Stars & Stamps for this week:

These sketches usually fit my style pretty well and this one was no exception. Here’s the card I made based on the sketch:

It’s really much brighter than this photo shows, but you get the idea.

Supplies used:

  • brass shimmer cardstock from The Metallic Stack by DCWV
  • patterned paper from my stash
  • black Magic Mesh
  • brown flower and leaves from Fall Flower Bushes by Ashland
  • flat-backed crystals from my stash
  • black peel-off sentiment from Starform

For information on how to use silk flowers (which can be much cheaper), you can read how I do it here.

One Card for Three Challenges

It’s rare that I do a card for more than one challenge. But today these three challenges lent themselves to a single card.

Here is the card I made to submit to all three challenges:

I just felt that all three of these challenges worked perfectly together. I love making black cards and doing that as the only layer worked great.

Supplies used:

  • black and white card stock from my stash
  • pink flowers and green leaves left over from a wall arrangement I made some time ago
  • crystal brads from my stash
  • QuicKutz “Diamonds & Dots” embossing folder and Cuttlebug
  • unknown label die borrowed at a recent card-making party

Thanks for stopping by. Happy crafting!

Clean & Simple #162

I love the sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping this week. It truly fits my style (except for the stamping part).

I made a card yesterday using this sketch, but just wasn’t thrilled with it. So I started over and I must stay, I’m fairly proud of this one. And my sister will LOVE the inchies I used.

Everything used came from my stash. The dimensional flowers are from Jolee’s Boutique and the rub-on sentiment is from Making Memories. The border punch I used is from Fiskars.

Thanks for stopping by. Happy crafting!

Stars & Stamps #90

I love the sketch from OWH Stars & Stamps this week. It’s one that speaks to my style of card-making.

So, today I finally got the chance to go make a card using the sketch. This is it:

It’s hard to tell on the photo, but the upper portion of the background is glittered, giving it an elegant feel. I like the card so much, I may have to make another for my upcoming craft fair.

Supplies used:

  • blank card and envelope from my stash
  • charcoal cardstock from my stash
  • patterned cardstock from “The Linen Closet Stack” by DCWV
  • black ribbon from Offray
  • birthday sentiment rub on from Paper House Productions

Thanks for stopping by. Happy crafting!

“Missing You” Card

This card is getting submitted to two challenges. Crazy 4 Challenges is asking for cards to be made for any charity. (Mine is Operation Write Home.) I used the following sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping as my inspiration.

Here is the card I made, based on the sketch:

Supplies used:

  • white, red and silver cardstock from my stash
  • red flowered paper from my stash
  • white & silver ribbon from Celebrate It!
  • pre-colored Hummingbird & Columbine from Fred She Said

I am participating in a card-making party for Operation Write Home in a couple days and this card will be added to the box sent to them this month.

Thanks for stopping by. Happy crafting!
