It Shouldn’t Have Been That Hard!

Seriously, it should NOT have been that difficult to make this CAS card! I could probably reproduce it much faster now, but what a nightmare it became.

Anyway, here’s the sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping for this week:

Operation Write Home is asking for Valentine and Love cards, so I’ve been working on a few of those to send in before the deadline of December 10. So, when I saw this sketch, I thought: a heart instead of the circle and a sentiment up the side instead of that tree. That shouldn’t be a big deal, right??

WRONG! Lets just say that I had to cut the gold heart shadow four times before it was right. Then I had to re-cut the whole background (dotted white on gold) twice because of problems. And I lost count of the times I cut the simple four-letter word! But it’s done and it’s every bit as nice as I had pictured it in my mind ahead of time. So I guess it was all worth it in the end.

Here’s my completed card. Whew!

Sometimes clean and simple isn’t easy! But it’s ALWAYS worth it.

Supplies used:

  • white cardstock from my stash
  • gold metallic paper from Colorbok
  • heart patterned paper from Paper Pizazz
  • Cuttlebug and Swiss Dots embossing folder for the background
  • Cricut and Make-The-Cut software to cut the heart & gold shadow
  • Cricut and Beyond Birthdays cartridge to cut the word “love”
  • 3M foam tape behind the sentiment

Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy crafting!
