Crazy 4 Challenges #124

I sort of “stumbled” into making this card for this week’s challenge from Crazy 4 Challenges: make a card or project using stripes AND polka dots.  I was browsing a recent issue of CardMaker Magazine and CASEd a card I found there.

Then I found this purple flower and knew I had to make a similar card for my SIL, whose birthday is next month. (It’s her favorite color.) I also remembered the challenge from Crazy 4 Challenges and decided to use stripes on the bottom section. So here is my card for the challenge, using stripes AND p0lka dots:

Supplies used:

  • white and purple cardstock from my stash
  • Swiss Dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug
  • Lines Texture Plate from Fiskars
  • silk flower from my stash
  • gold birthday sentiment from my stash
  • white & gold button received from my SIL

The extra little bonus for my SIL is that I used a button that she had sent me about a year ago. It was just the perfect “fit” for this card. However, the button is quite thick making the card more than 1/4 inch, which is the max the postal system allows. So I will give it to her hubby to sneak home with them when they both come for a visit in two weeks.

Thanks for stopping by. Happy crafting!

Stars & Stamps #109

This is the sketch for the Stars & Stamps challenge for this week:

Here’s my card, based on the sketch:

I recently entered a card challenge at Doodle Pantry using one of their digital stamps. Everyone who entered got this new digi from them. I couldn’t wait to use it. Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the Stars & Stamps challenge this week, so I got the perfect opportunity.

Supplies used:

  • white A2 card based from my stash
  • patterned digital paper, pre-colored digital stamp & sentiment from Cocoa Cup Ants by Doodle Pantry (not yet released for sale as of this writing)
  • Celestial 3-in-1 Corner Punch from Fiskars

Thanks for stopping by. Happy crafting.

Card Patterns #152

Here’s the new sketch from Card Patterns this week:

Here’s the card I made based on the sketch:

Unfortunately, I had trouble getting a photo to show the colors correctly. This isn’t far off – the colors really are bright and cheery. This card will go to an old classmate whose birthday is next month.

Supplies used:

  • A7 card blank from Recollections
  • patterned papers from Brenda Walton Small Wonders Girl Mat Pad from K&Company
  • yellow ribbon from Offray
  • yellow hydrangea from Prima Marketing
  • pink flat-backed pearl from my stash
  • Diamond Dots from Stampendous
  • birthday sentiment peel-off from my stash

Thanks for stopping by. Happy crafting!

Clean & Simple #176

It’s been a busy week and there hasn’t been a lot of time for card-making. However, today, I decided it was time… especially since this challenge ends today.

Clean & Simple Stamping offered this sketch for the challenge this week:

This is the card I came up with:

All supplies came from my stash. The centered roses are by Prima Marketing.

Thanks for stopping by. Happy crafting!

Mojo Monday #226

It feels like a long time since I’ve had the time to make a card. So this was all the more fun for me to do today.

This is the sketch for Mojo Monday for this week.
